Position Summary & Purpose

The Vice President (VP) of Institutional Sales is the front line coverage professional responsible for effectively maintaining Tier 1 Tier 3 buy-side institutional clients, soliciting new business, covering existing clients and converting prospects into revenue-generating accounts. The VP typically generates between $500,000 to $750,000 in annual revenues. The client list should consist of a minimum of 10 Tier I clients and 20 Tier II and/or Tier III clients. Also, the VP is responsible for acquiring at least [one] new client per year.
All asset classes are open for assignment.

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum of two years experience in Senior/Primary coverage

Required Licenses & Certificates

  • Current Series 7
  • Current Series 63

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Effectively maintains pro-active coverage of Tier I through Tier III buy-side institutions clients
  • Responsible for generating between $500,000 - $750,000 in annual revenues
  • Maintains a client list of a minimum of 10 Tier I clients and 20 Tier II and/or Tier III clients
  • Facilitates and promotes TFI sales/trading activity by effectively interacting with Traders, Bankers and Clients
  • Regularly arrange client meetings to cultivate business relationships
  • Effectively participates in conference calls, meetings and other communications with clients
  • Adept at trouble-shooting client situations, providing suitable answers to client questions and resolving problems in a timely manner
  • Attend various events to support clients
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Advanced comprehension of the Fixed Income Instruments
  • Must be able to work in a competitive team-oriented environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate and interface with clients
  • Must have ability to follow trades through to settlement
  • Aptitude for analyzing and interpreting complex information in a timely manner
  • Must possess the highest level of integrity, strong analytical skills and critical thinking skills
  • Self motivated and capable of working well under pressure
  • Able to effectively work in a fast paced, intense environment
  • Attention to detail and follow-up ability
  • Must be a team player and be able to work cohesively with colleagues
  • Proficient in use of Bloomberg
